I lightly touched on this subject in my Music and the Beast post earlier. Music can stir a dazzling array of emotions, especially those of a sexual or erotic nature. Think about how many people use music specifically to “set the mood”? How many people in my late Generation X/early Generation Y group probably owe our existence to songs like Sexual Healing or Let’s Get It On from the fabulous, late Marvin Gaye? The fabulous Annie Sprinkle lists seven types of female orgasm and while an aural orgasm sparked by the right music could, I suppose, qualify under her “energy orgasm”, I think it deserves a classification of its own. I also want to note that aural orgasms may be totally disconnected from any sexual feelings, instead a sense of audio-based euphoria sweeps over your body and soul. It can be sexual but certainly not always.
With that in mind, I present my musical selection in a playlist on Blip.fm. A wide range of music, but all of it makes me happy and absolutely sates my need for aural pleasures. This playlist will also have a permanent link on my Links and Resources page.
